Meet the organizations supporting entrepreneurs in Baltimore

Maryland Women Business Center

The Maryland Women’s Business Center (MWBC) works with women entrepreneurs across the state by way of our three locations to start, sustain, and grow their businesses. Through workshops, individual counseling, facilitated peer group support, special resources, and access to capital, MWBC annually helps more than 1,500 women gain the skills, connections, and confidence necessary to navigate entrepreneurship. Men are also welcome at workshops and training sessions.

A special initiative of the Rockville Economic Development, Inc. (REDI), which works to help businesses grow and expand in the city of Rockville, MWBC is a nonprofit organization and was once known as the Rockville Women’s Business Center. At the time of its inception, RWBC worked solely to support women’s entrepreneurs in Montgomery County.

Thanks to continuing support from REDI, foundation and sponsorship support, and partnerships with county economic development organizations in Frederick and Prince George’s Counties, MWBC has been able to sustain itself and expand in recent years to reach more women business owners.
