Frequently Asked Questions

Where is EcoMap located?

EcoMap is proudly headquartered in Baltimore, MD. Our offices (opening July 2022) are located near Mount Vernon, Baltimore's historical district, nearby to a variety of local eateries, small businesses, and museums.

What is the office policy?

EcoMap operates on a 2/5 office schedule - we come into the office as a team twice a week, on Monday and Wednesdays. During these days we have all of our company-wide and divisional meetings, and do the more collaborative work that makes our company tick (our in-person office policies are COVID dependent).

On the other three days (Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday), team members can work from wherever - the office, home, or anywhere else. Depending on your division, we try to minimize meetings on non-office days to create space for deep work (especially for our engineering and data teams). For more customer and sales-focused roles, you'll work with your manager to set a meeting schedule that makes the most sense for your position.

Does EcoMap offer remote positions?

We do not offer fully remote positions. While we understand why some people prefer 100% work from home, there are three reasons why EcoMap is not a remote company. First, we believe that companies should be change agents within their communities, bringing well-paying jobs, growth opportunities, and talent to their home ecosystem. Remote companies significantly limit the positive impact that a company can have on its local economy. For some companies, that doesn't matter - but for EcoMap, we truly care about the impact our company and resource have on the community and city that we call home.

Second, the mental health of our team is a core focus. EcoMap expanded dramatically during COVID, going from 3 to 16 people remotely. The isolation and stress created by a fully-remote environment took a major toll on our team, as it did for millions of people. Two years into the pandemic, multiple studies have shown that remote workers work longer hours, have higher stress & anxiety, and have lower levels of trust with their coworkers and satisfaction with their jobs. The mental health of our team is not something we are willing to sacrifice on.

Finally, we believe that good companies achieve the flexibility of remote work while maintaining the in-person magic. EcoMap offers unlimited PTO, 3/5 days per week of work-from-anywhere,  generous travel policies (you can work remotely for up to 12 weeks per year), and 6 months of parental leave that can be spread out over 4 years. While we know that our in-person policies will be a dealbreaker for some, this also means that everyone at EcoMap shares similar values around how we interact with our local community, how we collaborate as a team, and what makes work meaningful.

Does EcoMap sponsor visas?

No, EcoMap does not provide sponsorship or temporary work visas.

What is EcoMap's hiring policy?

EcoMap does not accept and will not review unsolicited resumes from search firms. EcoMap requires all colleagues in in-office positions be vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus unless there is a documented and approved medical or religious accommodation. As a condition of employment, prior to your start date, you will be required to complete an attestation of vaccination.

EcoMap is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable culture of belonging, grounded in empathy and respect, which values openness to opinions, awareness of lived experiences, fair treatment and access for all. We strive to build and develop diverse teams to create an organization where innovation thrives, where the full potential of each person is engaged, and their views, beliefs and values are integrated into our ways of working.

EcoMap is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion or creed, alienage or citizenship status, political affiliation, marital or partnership status, age, national origin, ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, veteran status, gender, gender identity, pregnancy, childbirth (or related medical conditions), sex, sexual orientation, sexual and other reproductive health decisions, genetic disorder, genetic predisposition, carrier status, military status, familial status, or domestic violence victim status and any other basis protected under federal, state, or local laws.

What can I do if I have additional questions?
